Claude Down Again: Thousands Report Errors Across US and India

Anthropic's AI assistant Claude is facing another outage, with users reporting fresh disruptions within hours of the last one. Downdetector.com shows more than 4,000 issue reports from the US, while about 500 incidents are logged from India so far.

Downdetector's data suggests users are seeing mixed problems across Claude services. Around 39% of reports mention Claude chat issues, 36% relate to the app, and 15% concern access to the website. Anthropic's own status dashboard lists the incident as 'unresolved' at the moment.

The current Anthropic Claude outage is the second disruption within less than 24 hours. On March 2, Anthropic reported elevated errors across Claude, console and Claude code. The platform then displayed HTTP 500 and HTTP 529 error responses, pointing to server-side trouble and overload.

HTTP 500 Error is described as a general "Internal Server Error" that appears when something fails on Anthropic's servers and stops them answering requests. HTTP 529 Error shows up when the system is fully overloaded and cannot handle the volume of incoming traffic.
