Andhra Pradesh: Locals Loot Liquor From Police In Guntur, Video Goes Viral
A video from Andhra Pradesh shows a chaotic scene where people are seen stealing liquor bottles meant for destruction by the police. The incident took place in Guntur, about 40 km from Amaravati. The footage captures men swarming the area and grabbing bottles laid out on the ground.
The police were in the process of destroying Rs 50 lakh worth of seized liquor at a dumping yard on Etukuru Road. Suddenly, a crowd appeared and began taking the bottles. Despite efforts to control the situation, many managed to escape with multiple bottles.

In the video, policemen can be heard shouting "Oye...Oye...Oye..." as they try to disperse the crowd. However, they did not appear to use force against those taking the bottles. At least one individual was seen returning a bottle after being caught.
Police Investigation Underway
The authorities are now investigating the incident to identify those involved in the theft. The video has gained wide circulation, highlighting the unexpected turn of events during what was supposed to be a routine destruction of confiscated liquor.
This incident underscores the challenges faced by law enforcement in managing large crowds and preventing such thefts during public operations. The police are working to ensure that similar incidents do not occur in future operations.
The investigation aims to understand how the crowd gathered so quickly and who orchestrated or participated in this act. The police hope to bring those responsible to justice and prevent further occurrences.
Such incidents highlight the need for better security measures during public destructions of seized goods. Authorities may consider additional precautions to avoid similar situations in future.
This event has sparked discussions on social media about law enforcement's preparedness and response strategies during such operations. Many are calling for stricter measures and better planning to handle unexpected crowds effectively.
The video serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of public events and the importance of maintaining control over seized items until their destruction is complete.
Ensuring that such incidents do not recur will require coordinated efforts between law enforcement agencies and community awareness programs. This will help maintain order during similar operations in future.
