Gandhinagar, April 19: Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel on Saturday put the

, for which she has been campaigning this

season, in an embarrassing situation when she praised

Chief Minister and BJP's prime ministerial candidate

over his development work in the state.

Patel, who was campaigning for Congress candidate from Gandhinagar Kirit Patel, told reporters that Gujarat indeed has seen a lot of development. When the reporters reminded her that the party she has been campaigning for doesn't acknowledge that Modi has done any development for Gujarat, Patel said: "I feel wherever the Congress has worked, it has brought development."

"But it is Modi who is in power in Gujarat," when the journalists counter-asked, Patel said: "When the Congress will come to power in Gujarat, we will see more development."

Kirit Patel will take on five-time MP from Gandhinagar, LK Advani, on April 30.
