Ahmedabad, Oct 29: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is also the BJP's prime ministerial candidate, tweeted on Tuesday evening that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who was here to attend the inauguration of a national museum dedicated to late leader Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, did not agree to spare time for discussing key issues of Gujarat and instead visited Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, the office of the Gujarat state Congress.

Modi said his administration had sought an audience with the PM on crucial issues like Narmada Dam height, farmers issues and floods but their request was turned down.

Earlier, Modi said during the inauguration ceremony that the history of India would have been different would have been different had Sardar Patel become the first prime minister.

Singh, during his speech, said he was proud that Patel was a Congressman and was a secular character who had played a major role in unifying India.
