'PM never fought a poll, how can he know about a Modi wave?'

Gandhinagar, April 28: BJP's prime ministerial candidate

recently gave an interview to

News journalist Ashok Shrivastav here. Modi said the Congress has made the current Lok Sabha election centred around him by taking all sorts of stands.

He said the Congress has not spoken on issues like development, corruption, women's safety, employment and price rise despite being in power for 10 years now.

Modi also took a dig at Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when he was asked about the latter's opinion that there is no Modi wave in the country now. He said the prime minister never fougght an election and hardly interacts with the people on ground. "How can he understand whether there is a wave or not," Modi asked.

Meanwhile, there was a controversy over telecasting the interview, which was taken a few days ago, in Doordarshan. The state media was initially hesitant to show the interview and wanted to telecast the interview of a top Congress leader to balance it out but the news about Modi's interview spread like a wild fire and it was being said that the government media was not treating a opposition leader in equal terms.

The Doordarshan authorities decided thereafter to telecast the interview.
