Haryana provides 25-100 pc subsidy to horticulture

Yamunanagar, Apr 14: The Haryana Government is providing subsidy up to 25 per cent to 100 per cent to promote horticulture in the state under National Horticulture Mission.

Stating this here today Yamunanagar Deputy Commissioner Nitin Kumar Yadav said for establishing new gardens, the government was providing a subsidy of 75 per cent and for floriculture upto 50 per cent subsidy was given to marginal farmers, while for production of mushrooms a subsidy of Rs 25,250 per unit and 50 per cent subsidy was available on compost per unit.

While giving details he stated that 50 per cent subsidy was also admissible on rejuvenation of old garden and for construction of green house including shedding net. For bird net and plastic tunnel, small and marginal farmers are given 50 per cent subsidy whereas other farmers were provided 33 per cent subsidy.

He informed that 50 per cent subsidy was available on preparation of organic manure and vermin compost and grant upto Rs 30,000 per unit was given to the farmers engaged in this profession.

While giving additional information on the other professions covered under National Horticulture Mission, he remarked that for the conservation of water, 100 per cent subsidy was available under which a sum of Rs four lakh was given to three farmers collectively for the construction of a reservoir for irrigation purposes.

He further added that 75 per cent subsidy also admissible for the farmers engaged in production of plants emitting fragrance. In the field of post harvest management for cold storages and refrigeration van, 25 subsidies is given to the farmers.

Mr Yadav said the state government is also imparting free training to the farmers at Horticulture Training Institute, Karnal.
