Govt plans to enforce import tax on wheat

New Delhi, Jul 16: Food and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar told that the government is planning to impose import tax on wheat.

On Friday, Jul 16 Sharad Pawar told that the ministerial panel is considering the proposal to levy import tax on wheat. He also told that slow progress of monsoon rains would not hit farm production.

However, weather office on Thursday, Jul 15 reported that monsoon rains were 24 per cent below normal in the last week and doubtful to rebound in the next week.
