Action plan to boost agriculture Sector in Bihar
Samastipur, Jul 13: The Bihar government has prepared an action plan to promote agriculture sector in the state, Agriculture Minister Nagmani said.
The minister said yesterday taht Rs 6 crores had already been sanctioned for the the action plan in which the state government would provide quality seeds to the farmers and make arrangements for marketing of their produce.
''The state government is committed to putting Bihar on agriculture map of the country and co-operation of renowned scientists is being sought to achieve the cherished goal'' Mr Nagmani added.
''A vast chunk of the agriculture land is highly fertile and capable to producing the foodgrains required to feed majority of the population if the potential in the area is tapped,'' he said.
Mr Nagmani said Bihar lagged behind during the Green Revolution in the country but it would bounce back on the development track as the state government was committed to inducing 'rainbow revolution' to ensure the improvement in all the sectors including Agriculture, Dairy and Fisheries.
