Hooda asks officers to imbibe the true spirit of Constitution

Gurgaon, Sept 3: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has called upon officers of various Central Services to imbibe the true spirit of Constitution and work towards providing corruption-free administration to people.
Speaking after inaugurating the 88th special Foundation Course at Haryana Institute of Public Administration (HIPA) here, Hooda said "As civil servants, you must acquire, cultivate and nurture liberal outlook, an understanding of India's rich culture and heritage and develop sensitivity and compassion towards weaker sections of the society."
He told the young officers, "You will be empowered with necessary administrative skills, so that you develop capacities, which are necessary for civil servants in a fast developing country."
Hooda said, 21st century is an age of technology, knowledge and professionalism and "You are expected to deliver services to people by using technology, reducing corruption and eliminating delays." "Officers in field postings must be accessible to public at all times to redress their grievances," he said.
Gurgaon has emerged as international city in a short span of time.
Talking about the progress of Haryana, Hooda said the government has strengthened infrastructure in agriculture, industry and services, the three main pillars of state's economy. "Today Haryana is not only leading in agriculture, but also in IT industry.
For assessing the progress of any state, there are four parameters - per capita income, per capita investment, per capita plan expenditure and resource mobilisation. Haryana is ahead of other states in all these parameters. "Due to its investment policies and excellent infrastructure, Haryana has become a preferred destination for national and multi-national companies.
Gurgaon has emerged as international city in a short span of time," he said. Later, talking to reporters, Hooda said it is for the first time that HIPA has been asked to conduct the Foundation Course. Coordinator of the Foundation Course, Dr Rajvir Singh Dhaka said, 78 officers belonging to ten different services including IPS, Indian Forest Service, IRAS, IIS etc. are participating in this course.
