A truss bridge connecting to Mt Everest's base camp swept away
Solukhumbu, Aug 29: Nature's fury hath no mercy. On Wednesday afternoon, a truss bridge, over a local stream on the way to Mt Everest base camp, was washed away by the floods.
The truss bridge over the Imja stream was swept away by the swollen floods, thereby not allowing anyone to reach the base camp.

Sherpa added that with this the route to Mt Everest has been close completely for the locals or the tourists. Any detour to reach the mountain will take more than one day.
The bridge should be constructed soon or else the villagers here will face a lot of problem, Sherpa said.
Tee region and the rest of the country has been experiencing extreme floods in the past two months that has caused a lot of destruction and has displaced many, with livestock lost.
