Seven killed in building collapse in Vadodara
Vadodara, Aug 28: At least seven persons were killed after a three-storey building collapsed in Madhavnagar locality in Vadodara in the wee hours on Wednesday.
The incident occurred behind Atlandara area around 4.30 AM when the three-storey building came crashing down, catching the sleeping occupants unawares, H J Tapariya, chief fire brigade officer of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation said.

Manish Bhardwaj, Vadodara Municipal Commissioner, Satish Sharma, City Police Commissioner and city Mayor Bharat Shah and other senior officials have rushed to the site. According to Tapariya, about 13 to 14 families were staying there. The fire brigade personnel have rescued four persons, while several people are believed to be still trapped under the rubble.
The rescue operations are going on in full swing. The injured have been rushed to SSG hospital for treatment. Talking to PTI, city mayor Bharat Shah said, "I was admitted to hospital and soon after learning about this mishap, I am on my way to the site.
Atladara is a newly developed locality after merger of Ataladara village with Vadodara city a few years ago.
