Heavy rains in several parts of India
Bangalore, Aug 28: Rain and thundershowers have occurred in many places across the country, such as West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Konkan, Goa and coastal Karnataka.
Some of the other places that have received heavy rainfall include Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, north Andhra Pradesh and Tamilnadu. However Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, west madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, south Andhra Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar islands remained dry.
Heavy rainfall is likely to occur in the next few days in the above-mentioned areas, especially in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu.
