Buildings collapse in Vadodara, 7 killed
Vadodara (Gujarat), Aug 28: Seven persons were killed while many were feared trapped after two buildings collapsed in the Atladara area here in the wee hours on Wednesday. Rescue operations were in full swing.
The three-storey buildings were part of a huge housing complex constructed by the city's urban development authority (VUDA). There are over 50 such buildings in the complex.

Fire brigade sources said about 13-14 families were staying in one of the buildings that caved in.
Chief Minister Narendra Modi said in his tweet that state finance minister Nitinbhai Patel was on his way to the accident site. Other top civic officials and police officers besides Mayor Bharat Shah also rushed to the spot.
Atladara is a newly developed locality in Vadodara.
