Australian delegates meet Narendra Modi (in pics)

Gandhinagar, Aug 28: Deputy Premier of Queensland Jeffrey William Seeney and other delegates on Tuesday met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here and spoke over various issues of mutual interest with an eye on the development of ties between the provinces of Australia and India. Seeney is also the Minister for State Development, Infrastructure and Planning in Queensland.

The delegates accompanying Seeney included Australian Consul General in Mumbai Mark Pierce. Additional Principal Secretary to Gujarat Chief Minister A K Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary Maheshwar Sahu and industrialist gautam Adani were also present at the meeting.

Both sides spoke on developing policies and build on the economic and cultural relations between Gujarat and Australia, keeping in consideration the changing scenario of the global economy.

Modi and Seeney also exchanged views on economic mobility and sustainability of the economic development and utilisation of various opportunities that would result in wider cooperation between Gujarat and Queensland in various sectors.

The Gujarat chief minister requested the Australian delegates to send representatives to the three-day Global Agricultural Summit scheduled next month.

Delegates from Australia have also paid visits to Gujarat earlier this year.
