Narendra Modi is 'decisive' and not 'divisive': Arun Shourie
New Delhi, Aug 27: Modi is a popular figure, there is no doubt about that. But, the top leadership also believes so. Arun Shourie, former union minister and BJP leader, in a talk show by Karan Thapar, tells us how Indian politics can get the right direction with Modi.
Very positive about Modi's prime Ministrial candidature and the promising future of the country that lies ahead under his leadership, Shourie emphasized that given the present state of affairs, the country needs 'decisive' politics and not a 'devisive' one.

To make his point clearer, he sets the example of the Parliamentary sessions, which end up with nothing concrete, but piled-up bills that take ages to be approved of disapproved.
Moreover, most of these bills can be done away with it, except for about 1%, which are relevant to the present state of affairs. In fact, Shourie believes that certain small amendments take a lot of time of the parliament, which are not even required.
Mentioning the Narendra Modi-led government subtly, he said,"A prudent government will make a list of things which can be done without passing new laws. Many things can be done." Criticizing the present government for its host of scams and (non-functioning) schemes, Shourie believes Narendra modi could bring a hoard of change in the country's affair.
On a lighter note, he also suggests that the idle present government is the best campaigner of Narendra Modi's Prime Ministrial candidature. He said,"Manmohan Singh is the main election agent of Narendra Modi today, kyuki jab ye koi kaam hi nhi karte hai to log kehte hai ki yar Modi ko lao. Modi ko lao."
Shunning all allegations of Modi being the cause of communal tensions after the 2002 riots in Godra, Shourie said that one see and believes what the others show him, which is divisive politics. However, the call of the time is decisive politics and Narendra Modi is the epitome of that.
