VHP Yatra: Senior leader Ashok Singhal detained at Lucknow airport

Bangalore, Aug 25: VHP (Vishva Hindu Parishad) president Ashok Singhal detained at the Lucknow airport on Sunday morning.

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided not to allow senior VHP leader Singhal to enter the Ayodhya town and sources says that he will be sent back to New Delhi.

Vishva Hindu Parishad had planned to begin its 300-km-long parikrama or religious procession around Ayodhya at 9:30 on Sunday morning, with a puja on the ghats of the Saryu river in the Ayodhya town.

Meanwhile Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas Committee chairman Mahant Nritya Gopaldas along with VHP leaders inaugurated the yatra from Maniram Chawani in Ayodhya, along with him over 500 people including MP'S, MLA's from BJP were detained by the police.
