Maha Guv assures women journalists of safety measures
Mumbai, Aug 24: After the gangrape of 22-year-old photojournalist sent shock waves in the country, journalists across the country took to the streets and demanded safety and security for themselves.
On Saturday many working women journalists met the Maharashtra Governor and put forth their demands. The Governor in response to this assured them that he will speak to the Maha CM Prithivrak Chavan regarding their safety.

Members of the fraternity also staged peaceful protests in cities like Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. They demanded for strict safety measures like constant patrolling of police in desolate areas, to be implemented for the security of journalists.
