Mumbai gangrape: Victim identified two culprits, says report
Mumbai, Aug 23: Maharashtra Home Minister R R Patil said that the state government has taken serious note of the gangrape of a 22-year-old photojournalist inside the compound of a mill in southern Mumbai and it will do everything required to bring the culprits to law.
The rape victim was undergoing treatment at Jaslok Hospital at Peddar Road.
Meanwhile, according to a DNA report, the victim has identified two of the culprits. She reportedly told the police that the two were calling each other as Rupesh and Sajid.Her statement was recorded and sketches of the suspects were prepared.

In her statement, the victim said that five persons were present in the Shakti Mills compound where she had gone with her male friend. They started hurling lewd remarks at her and also harassed her. Her friend was assaulted when he objected and then she was taken inside the defunct mill building and gangraped.
The Shakti Mills compound is known to be a hub of drug addicts.
