Madras Cafe: John Abraham seeks support of Chennai
Chennai, Aug 23: After facing the ire of the Tamils in Chennai, actor-producer John Abraham now seeks support from Chennai to make the film a success. Denounced as anti-Tamil, 'Madras Cafe' has drawn the attention of critics and the wrath of Tamil activists who demand banning of the film across India.
"I would like to urge all of Chennai to support 'Madras Cafe' as a film and release it as it is a credible film made with a lot of heart and it gives audiences something novel to be entertained about," John said in a statement.
As per sources, the film relates to the condition of Tamils in Srilanka with a hint of the Rajiv Gandhi assassination. Tamil activists, however, feel that the film portrays them in a bad light. The film stars John Abraham in the lead and Nargis Fakiri. This is John's second production feat. It has been directed by Soojit Sircar.
