Video fiasco: Narendra Modi backs angry Amitabh Bachchan
Gandhinagar, Aug 22: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday backed Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan over the latter's anger expressed against a video showing him singing huge praises for the leader. Modi said in his tweet that the person who made the fake video should take immediate action and apologise to the actor.
The video showing Bachchan calling Modi the only ray of hope to lead India went viral on the web, irking Bachchan. The video is said to be a morphed version of his Lead India campaign made in 2007. The original video showed Bachchan speaking about India's glorification.
The actor, who is the brand ambassador of Gujarat, alleged that his voice and text from the original video were wrongly interspersed with visuals that indicate a campaign for the Gujarat chief minister. He said it was an illegal act which calls for strong action, adding that he had brought it to the notice of the concerned authorities and also asked his digital team to find out its origin.
