Asaduddin Owaisi meets Sonia Gandhi to discuss Hyderabad
New Delhi, Aug 22: Majlis-e-IttehadulMuslimeen (MIM) supremo and MP Asaduddin Owaisi met Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President, at her residence on Wednesday to discuss the status of Hyderabad and to convince her not to make it a Union Territory.
He is also likely to discuss the inclusion of parts of Rayalaseema with Telangana state.

A senior Congress leader said, "Asad spoke to the Congress president and urged her not to make the city a UT". He is also likely to discuss the integration of Anantapur and Kurnool districts in Rayalseema and have a Muslim population of around 13 percent, with the proposed Telangana state.
"There will be balance of Assembly seats if Rayala-Telangana is created as the seats in T which are 119 now ill cross the 145 mark if the two Rayalaseema districts are added. This would also increase Muslim concentration," said one source.
