Home guard arrested for sexual abuse and extortion of a student
Kanpur, Aug 21: The Kanpur police has arrested a home guard for allegedly sexually abusing a 20 year old student and later extorting money from him by blackmailing him.
The home guard, Dharamveer Singh befriended the victim, a B.Tech student from Jaunpur at the Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University here in 2012. Singh abused the victim by making him unconscious and also made a video clip of the act last year.

Since then, he has been exploiting and extorting money from him by threatening to upload the video on the Internet. For the past six months, he had been held hostage and was consistently exploited by the Singh at his Govindnagar residence, the police said.
Singh has extorted close to Rs 4 lakh from the victim, they said. The victim then escaped to his home in Jaunpur and told the entire incident to his family. Upon a complaint filed by the victim's kin, the SSP ordered the Kalyanpur police to lodge an FIR in this connection.
