Heavy rainfall likely in the next 48 hours

Bangalore, Aug 21: Rain and thundershowers occured in most places over Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, west Bengal, Sikkim.

Some of the other places to have received heavy rainfall include Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bihar, northeastern states, Lakshadweep and West coast.

Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and interior Karnataka, along with west Rajasthan, Andhra
Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra and Tamilnadu are some of the other places that received heavy rainfall. However, weather remained mainly dry over the rest part of the country.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall are predicted in the above-mentioned states in the next few days. Heavy rain is likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of South Interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
