Delhi girl kidnapped by friend rescued from Darjeeling
New Delhi, Aug 21: A 15-year-old Delhi girl has been rescued nine months after she was allegedly kidnapped, gangraped and forced into prostitution in West Bengal's Darjeeling district, police said on Tuesday.
A woman, working as pimp and had bought the girl for Rs eight lakh, has been arrested, they said. The victim, a class 9th student, was kidnapped by her male friend from Hazrat Nizamuddin area of South East Delhi in October last year, said P Karunakaran, DCP (South East).

Though her parents had approached the police the next day, the girl had remained untraced till August 2 when she made a phone call to her mother to say that she was being regularly beaten up by her kidnappers. Her mother immediately informed the police which traced the phone number to Darjeeling. A police team was sent to Darjeeling on August 6 and the kidnapped girl rescued on August 9.
She was brought to the national capital and reunited with her family last week, the senior official said, adding a woman named Noorjahan was arrested on the charge of human trafficking as she had paid Rs eight lakh for the girl. According to sources, Noorjahan had a wide network in Delhi, Mumbai and West Bengal and was planning to sell the girl to a client in Saudi Arabia.
The girl told the police that she was kidnapped by her friend from outside her house in Hazrat Nizamuddin. She was then kept in confinement in several locations in Delhi and NCR where she was allegedly gang raped by the kidnappers. Then she was sold to a woman in the national capital who was running an inter-state prostitution racket and then she was sold to Noorjahan.
