BJP is not interested in issues of poor people: Digvijay Singh
Bhopal, Aug 21: Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh today charged the BJP with not allowing discussion in Parliament on issues of public interest as it was disinterested in the welfare of poor people and farmers.
"I have always maintained that the BJP has no interest in farmers, labourers and the poor because of which it always tries to stall proceedings in Parliament," Digvijay told reporters at the Raja Bhoj airport here.

It was strange that the BJP did not want a discussion on the falling value of rupee which would give it an opportunity to make suggestions on the issue, he said. Instead, it was busy raising a hue and cry about the missing files related to 'Coalgate' which was a matter being looked into by the CBI, the Congress leader said. He alleged that black marketing of onions was going on in Madhya Pradesh.
"State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has failed to take steps to prevent black marketing of onions," he said. Commenting on yesterday's violent clashes in Indore, Singh alleged that Sangh activists could possibly be behind the incident.
Singh had come here to meet his sister on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
