NRHM staff in Nagaland protest job categorisation

Kohima, Aug 20: The contractual technical staff under National Rural Health Mission (

) in

has regretted their categorisation into ‘D’ through an official notification. The contract technical employees of the state NRHM in this connection on Monday submitted a memorandum to state NRHM director for redressing their grievances.

The employees' body leader Dr Watizulu on Tuesday said that NRHM has been a central scheme and the funds for its implementation are paid by the Centre including salaries and remuneration of contractual technical staff members.

The memorandum stated that the NRHM employees were appointed on contractual basis under the state NRHM on fixed salary and without any additional allowances.

They said that the department, through a notification issued on August 3, has revised the categorisation of various health units, thereby affecting the pay structure of the contractual technical staff members. “

The salary of the contractual employees has been reduced by creating a new unit –'Category D' at the expense of the existing units,” they said.
