India ahead of USA and Italy in supplying paper to UAE

China and Indonesia are the top two importers of paper providing almost a quarter of it brought into UAE. Germany accounts for 8.1 per cent of Dubai's paper imports whereas India accounts for 6.9 per cent, followed by USA, Italy and Finland.

Dubai accounted for about 80 per cent of paper imports valued at United Arab Emirates Dirham 3.8 billion.

An official of Paper Arabia 2013 said that the growth in the import of paper products can be linked to rising income and lifestyle changes and also to Dubai and UAE that act as a transit hub.

Dubai continuously hosts conferences and hospitality events and that need special printing services and paper products. Paper Arabia is an event specialised for the paper industry that will be held in December this year.

Participants from France, USA, UK, India, China, Austria and other countries will be present at the event.
