UP: The sand mafia strikes again, attacks IAS contingent

Lucknow, Aug 13: The fact that sand

reigns in

has been proved once again. A contingent if

officers, having been tipped about a possible illegal sand mining activity, headed toward the spot where they were attacked by the sand mafia. One of the IAS officers narrowly escaped a run over by one of the trucks.

One of the miscreants was, however, nabbed and arrested. The IAS officers have lodged a complaint and expect serious action against him. The incident comes at the wake of the Durga Shakti Nagpal suspension case where the officer was wrongly accused to have created a communal tension, while that was not the case.

The entire episode was just a bid to get her suspended and that has been proved by the chest-thumping Narendra Bhati (senior SP leader) speech, where he says that he got Durga suspended in 41 minutes.

The question now is, will the Akhilesh Government open its eyes toward the issue?
