Independence Day: Jam it up with music

Bangalore, Aug 13: Youngsters in the city have found a new language of freedom. But, this is not unusual as the 'Freedom Jam' has gained quite a number of fan following since 1996 when it was conceptualized.

A conglomerate of young and dynamic musicians, this is not like any other music festival. It invites both well-known as well as new-comers to try their style and genre of music.

Every year, on the 15th of August, musicians, eclectic, rock, commercially established, metal players perform for 12 hours at a stretch for 4 days.

"This year, however is an exception, as 63 bands would be performing for three days from Aug 13," said P.N. Siddharta of 'Bharat Mata Nach Kud Baja' and co-organizer of the Freedom Jam. Likely to be held in different venues in the city, one can enjoy a rich mixture of Carnatic rock music, Hindi rock, Sanskrit pop and the like.

And guess what! you could have it all for free. However you have to register yourself for it first.
