Pics: Balakrishna meets Modi, will TDP-BJP tie-up be a reality?
Hyderabad, Aug 11: TDP leaders Balakrishna and Murali Mohan, both actors, met Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi after the latter visited Hyderabad on Sunday to attend a mega youth rally to kick off the BJP's campaign for the next Lok Sabha polls. Actor Mohan Babu and his daughter Manch Laxmi Prasanna also met Modi at the Park Hyatt hotel where he went from the Begumpet Airport.
Mohan Babu is a relative of YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and had met the latter at Chanchalguda Jail. Brother-in-law of actor-turned politician Chiranjeevi, the Union tourism minister, Allu Aravind also met Modi.
Balakrishna's meeting Modi, however, gave rise to a few speculation for the former had turned down Modi's invitation for his swearing-in ceremony. It was said that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, his brother-in-law, had advised him to skip it for it could send wrong signal about the relation between the TDP and BJP.
TDP leader Kambampati Ramamohan Rao said on Saturday that the final call on a probable tie-up with the BJP will be taken up by Chandrababu, although other sources said that the former Andhra chief minister was reluctant to go with an alliance with the BJP.
Meanwhile, sources in the TDP said that Balakrishna has invited Modi to his second daughter's marriage.
