Self help writer murders wife, posts pics on Facebook

, Aug 10:In a horrifying incident, a man shot his wife several times over a tiff and posted her dead body's picture on

, before handing himself over to the police.

Derek Medina, 31, in a fit of rage shot his wife Jennifer Alfonso, 26, several times as the latter was allegedly punching him, following a quarrel between the two. Their 10 year old daughter, however, was unharmed.

The gruesome graphic image showed a blood-soaked woman slumped dead on the floor with a caption "RIP Jennifer Alfonso". Just after he uploaded this picture, his FB status said:

"I'm going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife.

"Love you guys miss you guys take care Facebook people you will see me in the news.

"My wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me."

On further investigation, detectives found that the couple had a fight when the man charged a gun at his wife. Following this, the wife said that she could not go ahead and live with him anymore, which triggered the cause of the murder.

Medina shot at her several times in the kitchen of their 5555 SW 67th Avenue home. Surprisingly, the gory revealations and images on Facebook was shared by many and several cmments poured in, including that of Medina's father.Apart from 170 shares in those 5 hours (after which FB blocked the profile), one could see comments like:

"That is my friend there, Jennifer Alfonso," a woman wrote.

Another asked: "What happened?"

Medina's father, Derek Medina Sr, spoke to the local media, justifying his son's act saying that his son had killed his wife after a violent domestic dispute.

"He just said that his wife picked up a knife on him, and they had a big fight, and he shot her," said Derek.

Medina's neighbors, however, found him a bit wierd as he carried a concealed weapon every night, posing as a night watchman. It is further revealed that Medina had penned down several books on self help, one titled "How I Saved Someone's Life and Marriage and Family Problems Thru Communication."
