Heavy rainfall in various parts of India, more to be expected

Bangalore, Aug 10: Heavy rainfall occurred in Madhya Pradesh, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and along west coast, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, east Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Bihar, Gujarat, interior Maharashtra and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Some of the other places to receive heavy rainfall include Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Tamilnadu and at isolated places over rest of the country. However, Rajasthan, north interior Karnataka and interior Andhra Pradesh where weather remained mainly dry.

The weather conditions in the above-mentioned states are likely to remain the same in the next few days. However, heavy to very heavy rainfall would occur at isolated places over west Madhya Pradesh, Sub­Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu division of Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema and coastal Tamilnadu.
