50-yr-old man throws acid at woman for refusing marriage in UP

Lucknow, Aug 7: A young woman managed to escape an acid attack by a 50-year-old man who was pressurising her for marriage,

said.

Vishnu Narain Shivpuri, a resident of paper mill colony, threw acid on the 24-year-old victim, a native of Dehradun, Tuesday in Mahanagar area after she refused his marriage proposal, they said.

The victim did not sustain any injury in the incident as she had moved aside to protect herself, police said.

She told the police that Shivpuri was friend of her late father and was pressurising her for marriage.
