Bangalore, Aug 5: Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) protested here on Saturday against the attempt to dilute the RTI provisions to keep the political parties out of the ambit of the RTI. The demonstration was also aimed to raise awareness among the citizens about the recent court guidelines to stop convicted or jailed politicians from contesting elections.
The AAP members also expressed solidarity with the Uttar Pradesh SDM Durga Shakti Nagpal, who was suspended by the state government for allegedly taking on the sand mafia in UP.
Recently, the party opened its Karnataka unit. Leader Arvind Kejrwal was in the city to inaugurate the unit.
