Delhi University appoints officials for DUSU polls

Ashok Vohra, professor of philosophy, has been appointed as the Chief Election Officer for this year's DUSU elections, Registrar Alka Sharma said today. D S Rawat, professor of chemistry, has been made the Chief Returning Officer, while Satish Kumar, deputy dean from the University Information Centre, has been appointed as the Returning Officer, she said.
The appointments have been made by DU Vice Chancellor Dinesh Singh. The officials will be conducting polls for the office bearers and members of the central council of the DUSU.
Besides these officials, the VC has also appointed college principals and heads of institutions affiliated to DUSU as election officers in their respective institutions. DUSU is the representative body of students from most colleges and faculties.
The elections are expected to be held in September.
