US: Driver deliberately runs car through crowd; 1 killed, 11 injured

, Aug 4: A driver chose to run his car through a crowd of pedestrians on the Venice Beach Broadwalk here on Saturday night. One person was

in the horrible incident while 11 were injured. One was in a critical state while two others were seriously injured, official sources said. The deceased breathed his last three hours after the accident.

The injured also included a four-year-old child.

Shocked witnesses told reporters that the dark-blue sedan deliberately ran down the broadwalk at 60mph, crushing the pedestrians. One witness said the driver of the vehicle was out for blood. Other said people were scattered around the ground, badly injured and bloodied.

Photos taken by security cameras showed people diving out of the killer car.

The driver fled after the incident and is sought under felony hit-and-run charges. One man was reportedly taken to custody although details were yet to be confirmed.
