Bomb blast near Indian Embassy in Afghanistan
Jalalabad (Afghanistan) Aug 3: A large explosion struck an area near Indian Embassy in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad on Saturday killing 12 and wounding 45.
Deputy provincial police chief Masoom Khan Hashmi said that a suicide bomber was behind the explosion just after 10 a m and gunfire broke out immediately throughout the area.
The Afghan security forces have cordoned off the area and the victims have been taken to the provincial hospital.

Meanwhile the Indian Ministry of External Affairs spokesman Syed Akbaruddin said on Twitter, "Explosion in front of India's Consulate in Jalalabad. All Indians officials safe".
"No group has still claimed the responsibility for the attack and the situation is still very fluid," sources said.
