, August 2: It was a sunny morning in the capital Friday with minimum

settling at 27.5 degree Celsius, a notch above the season's average in recent times.

The Met department has also predicted rain and thundershowers in some parts of the city.

"The skies will remain generally cloudy with rain and thundershowers occurring in some are

as of the city," said an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official.

The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 35 degree Celsius, and humidity at 8.30 a m was 85 per cent.

Since the onset of the monsoon in June, the city has recorded 460 mm of rain.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled a notch above the season's average at 34.9 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature settled at 25.9 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.
