India receives heavy rainfall in most parts
Bangalore, July 31: Southwest monsoon was heavy over Saurashtra and Kutch and very active over Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jammu and Kashmir and Chhattisgarh.
Heavy rains and thundershower occurred at most places, along the west coast and over Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha. Some of the other places to receive heavy rainfall include Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir, Madhya Maharashtra, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and at one or two places over rest parts of the country.
Rain and thundershowers are likely to be received by most parts of the country in the next few days. Most affected would be Odisha, Chattisgarh, Lakswadeep, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, west Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim. Most of the above-mentioned places may also receive extremely heavy rainfall.
Heavy rain to very heavy rain would occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka and ghat areas of Interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours.
