Bangalore: 3,700 buses unfit for roads
Bangalore, July 26: Bad news for the daily commuters by Bus. Official sources state that the 3,700 buses are not fit to be on the roads. In fact, they are so damaged that they can jeoperdise the lives of commuters. However, they still continue to ply on the roads.

According to the rule book, a bus which has logged 7.5 lakh kilometers or is 10 years old (whichever is earlier) must be deemed unfit for running. The transport department technical team, however, takes the final call.
Buses are inspected by depot managers and the mechanical engineering team on a regular basis and if considered fit for running, the buses are allowed another 1 lakh kilometer, said authorities.
