Chopper Emergency Landing:Rahul Gandhi escapes major tragedy

Lucknow, July 25: Rahul Gandhi escaped a major tragedy as his chopper made an emergency landing at Lucknow on Thursday, July 25. The Congress Vice President was on his way back from Amethi to Delhi.

The 43-year-old young Gandhi family scion visited Amethi, his constituency, to attend a function organised by CRPF. According to sources, the flight was diverted to Lucknow due to bad weather. Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde too was present in the chopper.

Rahul was accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi. This was the second visit by the Gandhis in Amethi. Recently, the brother-sister duo had visited the place and interacted with Congress workers and local leaders.

It was reported that the Gandhis had given them tips on strengthening the party ahead of Lok Sabha election which is expected to be held in 2014.
