Former minister & Salman Khurshid's father passes away
New Delhi, July 20: Khurshid Alam Khan-former Union Minister of India and father of External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, passed away today morning at the age of 95. The reason of death is cited to be a heart ailment.
Ministers and top politicians condole his family and friends. Prime MInister Manmohan Singh said that India has lost a true son and a servant of the nation.

Khan was admitted to the Escorts Heart Hospital five days back when he complained of chest pain. "He already had a major problem of Aortic Stenosis (AS), which is a disease of the heart valves. He (breathed his last) at around 3 A.M. Today," Dr TS Kler, the executive director of the cardiac sciences department at the hospital said.
Khan served as the governor of Karnataka from 1991 to 1999 and prior to that, he was the governor of Goa from 1989 to 1991. Even before that, he served as the Union minister of External Affairs.
