'Illegal' baseball bat triggers law suit

Texas, July 19: In an interesting incident in Texas, the parents of a Texas League pitcher who took a line drive to the head and got hurt filed a million-dollar lawsuit against League City (Texas) Little League and Little League Baseball. They have alleged that the bat was illegal and have sued the club for $1 million.

Emmett Parsutt Jr. was playing against a League City team on July 1, when he was hit by a screamer straight to his head, knocking him unconscious. He was examined with a serious concussion, which is when his parents alleged that the bat that was in use was 'illegal'.

"The umpire, when I was walking around, said something sounds funny on the bat they're using, the ball is coming off really, really different," Santa Fe manager Bryan Alexander said.

In fact, everybody seemed to have noticed that the opposition team was using the same bat. However, on examining the bat, nothing was found.
