Moved by biopic, legend Carl Lewis calls up Milkha Singh
Chandigarh, July 17: Legendary American athlete of yesteryears Carl Lewis called up Flying Sikh Milkha Singh on Monday night after he was moved by the latest Bollywood film made on the latter, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag.
Lewis, who had won nine Olympic gold medals between 1984 and 1996, saw the movie with an Indian fan and was impressed with how Singh overcame hardships to represent his country at the Olympics.

Confirming Lewis's call, the 77-year-old sportsperson said the former sought his postal address for he wanted to send him a gift. He although said that he was surprised how the star athlete found his phone number.
Farhan Akhtar, who played the lead role in the biopic, also confirmed Lewis's call from the USA. He tweeted:
Milkha Singh is known for his heartbreaking fourth place finish in the 400m final in the 1960 Rome Olympics.
