Batch of 1,037 pilgrims leave for Amarnath from Jammu
Jammu, July 17: A batch of over 1,000 pilgrims have left the Jammu base camp for Shri Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir Himalayas.
A convoy of 35 vehicles, carrying 1,037 pilgrims, left from Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu at around 4.50 AM to pay obeisance at the Amarnath cave shrine, police said on Wednesday.
The 21st batch of pilgrims, including 765 men, 166 women, 16 children apart from 90 priests, are on way to twin base camps of Pahalagam and Baltal in the Kashmir Valley. With today's batch a total of 40,612 pilgrims have left the Jammu base camp for Amarnath so far.
