Madhya Pradesh FM resigns over sodomy allegations
Bhopal, July 5: Madhya Pradesh's Finance Minister Raghavji on Friday, July 5 resigned over allegations of sodomy. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reportedly asked the minister to quit.
According to sources, Raghavji was forced to resign following a police complaint filed against him. The 79-year-old BJP leader was accused of sexually harassing his domestic help.
The
complainant
claimed
that
the
accused
had
sodomised
him
on
the
pretext
of
giving
permanent
government
job.
Two
other
aides
of
the
former
minister
too
have
been
accused
of
sexually
harassing
the
victim.
The victim submitted a CD as evidence against the accused. The CD was shot by another domestic help who was working at the residence of the former minister.
Raghavji had been the finance minister of the state for the last nine years. Overruling all allegations against him, he said that the case against him is politically motivated.
According to Raghavji, the man who has accused him of sexual exploitation worked part-time for him, occasionally massaged the minister's arms and legs, and had quit a month ago.
