Madhya Pradesh FM resigns over sodomy allegations

Bhopal, July 5: Madhya Pradesh's Finance Minister Raghavji on Friday, July 5 resigned over allegations of sodomy. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reportedly asked the minister to quit.

According to sources, Raghavji was forced to resign following a police complaint filed against him. The 79-year-old BJP leader was accused of sexually harassing his domestic help.

The complainant claimed that the accused had sodomised him on the pretext of giving permanent government job. Two other aides of the former minister too have been accused of sexually harassing the victim.

The victim submitted a CD as evidence against the accused. The CD was shot by another domestic help who was working at the residence of the former minister.

Raghavji had been the finance minister of the state for the last nine years. Overruling all allegations against him, he said that the case against him is politically motivated.

According to Raghavji, the man who has accused him of sexual exploitation worked part-time for him, occasionally massaged the minister's arms and legs, and had quit a month ago.
