Bomb scare in Madurai-bound Vaigai Express

Tiruchy, July 4: An anonymous call claiming that a bomb had been planted in the Chennai-bound Vaigai Express from Madurai kept security personnel on high-alert on Wednesday.

A thorough scanning of the entire train was done and the call was found to be a hoax.

The bomb detection and disposal team, along with Sniffer dogs were into service for a thorough search.

The sources said the search did not reveal any explosive material and the call turned out to be a hoax.

After it was clear that there was no explosive substance in any compartment, the passengers were allowed to board the train.

Subsequently, the passengers were asked to get into the train, which continued its journey after a two-hour delay.
