Mumbai: Train derailed on Airoli-Thane local line
Mumbai, July 3: Mumbaikars faced yet another snag in the train services in Mumbai, this time due to a rail fracture between Airoli and Thane. The train reportedly derailed because of the malfunction. There are, however, no reports of death or injury. This is the second time in the past one week that the communication lifeline of the city faced problems.
Earlier on June 29th, a snag led to the cancellation of six services on Harbour line between Mankhurd and Vashi. This happened in the morning rush hour when a tree fell on the railway line. Repair services were also affected as the tree branches infringed on the track near Bandra. Train services were resumed after 20 minutes; till then, traffic in these lines had come to a grinding halt, causing much inconvenience to the daily commuters.
