3.5 magnitude earthquake shakes U'khand; No damage reported
Dehradun: So after the calamity of the disastrous floods and chopper crash, now it's the earthquake that has hit Uttarakhand.
A minor earthquake hit Uttarakhand on Thursday, officials said. The quake struck at around 11.51am, the MeT officials said.
The epicentre of the quake was located at 30.1 degrees north on the latitude and 80.4 degrees east on the longitude, the officials said.
According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the quake measured 3.5 on the Richter scale. The epicentre was near Pithoragarh, one of the areas affected by the floods.
An IMD official said that the earthquake was minor, and no damage or obstruction to relief work was caused.
