Didn't flag off relief: Rajnath refutes media reports
Lucknow, June 26: BJP president Rajnath Singh on Wednesday tweeted that he did not flag off relief for the flood-hit Uttarakhand and it was simply dispatched. Media reports said that he had flagged off relief goods and first installment of funds collected by the party for Himalayan state devastated by massive natural disaster.
According to reports, Singh flagged off eight trucks, carrying relief material, including food, water, clothes and Rs 58 lakh collected by the party. The Congress had organised a flagging-off ceremony a couple of days ago in New Delhi and the move had drawn flak from various quarters.

Earlier, Singh, who arrived in the state capital on a two-day visit for the first time after taking over as the BJP president earlier this year, was welcomed at the party headquarters.
Singh, along with state in-charge for the Lok Sabha polls Amit Shah was likely to speak to senior party functionaries and monitor the preparations for the big fight scheduled next year, party sources said.
On Thursday, Singh will speak to the media on the party's priorities ahead of the polls.
